The Spring Revue is at the ADC Theatre for a week during the Lent Term.  It's two hours of new sketches, often with some kind of theme. It's the most experimental of Footlights' main shows.

Apply to write the Spring Revue

Applications to write the Spring Revue are posted on the Footlights mailing list towards the end of the Michaelmas term. You can apply on your own, or in a team. It's normally best to apply with other people. We ask you to write quite a detailed application, explaining your previous comedy experience, and what your show would be about.  The more ideas of sketches, concepts and characters you can include, the better.  The Footlights committee interviews all applicants, and makes a decision before the end of the term.

Audition to be in the Spring Revue

Details of this are posted on the Footlights and ADC mailing lists before the end of the Michaelmas term.  Everyone's welcome, and no experience is necessary. The audition style depends on whoever's directing and writing, but you might well find a pile of speeches and scripts outside the audition room, which you'd prepare briefly and then act out in as funny a way as possible. There might be a bit of improvisation around ideas the director gives you in the audition. Or not. It's quite relaxed, really.   Smokers | Pantomime  | Spring Revue | Tour Show | Harry Porter Prize
