Press Release May 2002 The Cambridge Footlights Present Their Summer Tour 2002 TODAY OF ALL DAYS Hot on the heels of last years Far Too Happy, the 2001 Perrier Best Newcomer nominees return with their brand new summer tour show Today Of All Days. Pull up a stool in Forrester's pub where 'everything's on tap' and listen to the stories of Hatford Bay. Take that of the luscious Ruby Duvet, whose misfortunes in love are outweighed only by her exceptional beauty. Or hear Marcus, the pretentious performance artist who took his trousers down for NYT and whose longest relationship has been with thoughts of suicide. That Barman can spin a tale that will thrill you to the core, but watch out if he asks you to use his 'special toilet'. And Harry Mann, well. His secrets are too dark to mention here. They say he eats people. Five of Cambridge's finest comedians delve into the minds of daydreamers, slipping from weird reality into fantasy and back again. The meeting of five strangers in a bar providing a narrative platform for a series of magical 'clown' based sketches, tales which explore life's three great mysteries; sex, death and cannibalism. Led by Paul King, director of the 2001 Perrier Award winning Garth Marenghi's Netherhead, the show previewed in Oxford to laughter and applause. The Oxford Times, 17/5/02, suggested that Today Of All Days 'stands a fair chance of being nominated for the Perrier Award', saying it was 'as if The League of Gentlemen had found themselves in a Connor MacPherson play.'
